NOMADS
Every great, spiritual, and unconventional journey begins with a decisive step. The new KALOGIROU Spring Summer 2023 campaign titled 'NOMADS' follows our protagonists’ wondering through a utopian and lunar landscape in search of each other – their Oasis. There is no right or wrong way, only an individual need of self-expression. They are looking for the antidote to loneliness. Light and shadow merge in an uninterrupted movement. In an age of constant change, mobility is a virtue and endurance a quality.
For the ‘NOMADS’ video and photo series, KALOGIROU traveled to the island of Milos. Taking advantage of the enchanting scenery of Sarakiniko, which was transformed into a "white" desert made of sand, sun and chalk-white rocks smoothed and shaped by time, wind, and waves. The atmosphere is overwhelming, like a ritual in progress. Nomads – in search of their Oasis - are drifted apart and swept away by a maelstrom of desires. They find each other but only briefly, for a moment. The domes preserve the oxygen, the source of life, and are portrayed as protectors of the flower of hope. Each frame of the campaign masterfully describes a story of sharp aesthetics.
